How does this model compare to older Dyson's (like the DC07 - one of the first gen models)?

What are the advantages with spending more on the higher end models (like the DC65)?

The code DOES NOT work on the Multi Floor 2 even though it is from OP's link.

What's the difference between the Origin and the Multifloor 1? Just bought the multifloor last week from Amazon and now there's this for about the same price with some somewhat useful tools...

The DC07 had the biggest bin of any of their models I believe. I was really bummed when ours broke. I have to friggin empty the bin 2-3 times just when doing our bedroom because of our dogs. On the DC07 it was a 1 bin dump.

The newer ones do seem to have more suction, I just really wish they offered a bigger bin on their newer models, especially the supposed "animal" versions.

I don't really know if it's worth spending extra $. You're mostly paying for more attachments which are ridiculously priced. I believe if you've got them on your DC07 they will still work on the new ones so there may not be a need to go for one of the higher models.

We have one of these, have had it for a while. It is a horrible vacuum compared to the original DC07 Dysons. The materials are cheap, the suction isn't great, and it is very wobbly.

The bigger you go it gets stronger suction, bigger bins, and larger brushes.

For me I couldn't tolerate anything smaller then the multifloor just because of the added vacuum time due to a smaller brush.
They are all optimized for there size so they all do a great job.

I would agree with this. Still a great vacuum but not like the old ones. Only thing is new dyson owners hopping on the train won't know the difference and get the cool looking purple vacuum.

After looking at several dysons, there is no real difference from the models other than price and color.

The only functional feature that would distingush the models are essentially:
1. Pre-filter
2. No pre-filter (Cinetic models)

The ones with a pre filter have a higher rated air watts sucking power. I would recommend the 'cheaper' pre-filter models.

What is the difference between this and animal? Is this latest version? Please answer if someone knows.
