Please be nice, I am very new...

Saw this deal come up when I was looking at the Monoprice keyboards on sale. Link to keyboards:https://slickdeals.net/f/10353924-monoprice-select-series-full-size-mechanical-keyboard-w-blue-switch-20-more-free-shipping?src=SiteSearchV2_SearchBarV2Algo1

It seems that they cut down their prices for these with this sale, coming out to pretty cheap. I saw some of these types going for $12 to $15 during the prime sale. Grab one for super cheap if you live near a tower. The 25 mile is only $2.81.

25 Mile: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=13803
35 Mile: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=13805
40 Mile: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=15956
30 Mile: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=13804
60 Mile: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=15954

There is a shipping charge, but it seems cheaper if you buy a keyboard with it. By itself its a lot more.

Great find but some are really going to complain about shipping starting at North of $8.

Edit: everything I add to cart increase shipping cost. Has anyone found something to bring it down?

Sorry - what keyboard are you talking about?
Price for shipping kills it.

Shipping is always the problem with Monoprice. Typically, the cables and stuff have a flat rate. Maybe not with the antennae though. Meh

Shipping makes the deal lackluster.

The $8.27 antenna for me costs $8.49 extra to ship it. Just an FYI.

I can save shipping by picking it up, it's just about 200 miles away. 🤣

when I added one of the keyboards that they have on sale currently, my shipping price for the keyboard + antenna was about $1. But you need to add a keyboard and get an antenna.

I have attached my cart view below to show the shipping price

The link to the SD page about their keyboards can be found here:

Not sure what the mileage means on these. That's not really how broadcast reception works. You don't increase the range from the receiving end, it has to do with the transmitting signal.

So, distance is not really an accurate telemetry. maybe sensitivity, though.

Their legitimacy is something to consider when ordering. To me, using mileage to measure reception ability makes the product not quite legit from the get go.

Good prices, though.

30-mile was cheaper through Amazon for me--$10 shipped. Monoprice wants $14 to ship the 35-mile.

Looks like you could add this USB-A to USB-C adapter for $6.99 [monoprice.com] for free shipping.

EDIT: Nope - it only drops the price of shipping $2.49. Think I'll keep my homemade antenna [popularmechanics.com] since it's doing okay.

All antennas list mileage as a spec metric. I know with the directional antennas, the higher mileage range ones also have a narrower cone of reception - e.g. you can pick up weaker signals from a specific direction. But if the towers are not all coming from the same place, you'll have a harder time picking up certain stations unless you turn the antenna.

So it may just be a way of describing the architecture of the antenna. I'm not sure how these mileage numbers work on omnidirectional antennas tho.

I don't see how a small indoor antenna can pick up a station 40 miles away, let alone 60.
