You get $50 off if you combo it with a motherboard though.

This is true. But as I had mentioned before, this has been regular price for some time now. This isn't a new deal and doesn't need another new post. If you take the original $349.99 price and add in the $100 mobo bundle discount Microcenter originally offered, you still end up at the same price it is today.

Let me know if you have any questions.

1800x is often $100 more. Factory 4.0ghz boost, with more overclock headroom.

True but typically you only get 100Mhz more than a 1700X, at most. And often not even that. Not worth $100 for most people and use cases.

It's pretty nice that you can get a 1700x for the cheaper than I got my 1700 on sale for back in March ($290). Still happy I got it when I did, though, it has been great.

Why is it always the X chips going on sale? Or have I just been missing a 1700 sale?

Dear lord my wallet. I was going to get the 1700, but I may just pick this up since I already have a cooler. Thoughts?

I was planning on getting a 1700 for this price point. Any reason to jump to the X? My understanding is it has a higher core clock (which is easily attainable with a slight OC of the 1700) but I lose the stock cooler.
So I guess my question is the X worth the price of a CPU cooler?
