I have this and it works great at the gym. I use it with my Jaybird Freedom Sprint bluetooth earphones. Works very well and I dont have to carry around my big ass Nexus 6p with me when working out. However, when I go running, it does disconnect if i move my head too much or my arms. Perhaps my Jaybird earphones need to be upgraded to a later model but overall I do like the GearFit 2. Another thing I dont like about the GF2 is when you want to transfer your music files onto the device, you must first upload your songs to you phone and then from their, you can transfer your tunes to the GF2 via bluetooth. I just wish Samsung would allow direct transfer from my computer to the GF2.

The distance/GPS for running is pretty bad. Battery drains on runs as well, but the charge is pretty quick.

Not impressed with this watch, Awful battery life unless you disable basically all of the useful features (which are only useful if you have an andriod phone, iphone app is garbage).

Pros
-Beautiful display
-A fitness band that does smartwatch-y things
-Pretty cheap compared to others

Cons
-Awful battery life. Seriously. Samsung support even said on forums that "sometimes a new software update takes time to settle in and battery life will go back to normal". WTF?
-Not a smartwatch, if that's a big thing you need...
-Wouldn't trust a refurb unit on this for $10
-iPhone app is 100% worthless (last used late June 2017)

If you're asking why I have this watch, well I already returned it. So disappointed. My brother has a Samsung Gear 2 and he loves it. It's a smartwatch that does fitness things decent;y well. If you are going to go with one of their products, that would be it.

I have this and for the price and features I'd say it's great. It's not best in class performance, but it does a decent job. I went on a 10 hour bike ride with GPS enabled and it lasted the whole ride. I was blown away. Accuracy on all tracking is off, but it's close enough for me. I'd take it over my wife's Fitbit Charge HR 2 anyday.

Most do not track weigh lifting well.
I bought this a few weeks ago after a lot of research. I am pleased with it so far.

I have an iPhone, is the app so bad that it's not worth it compared to the Android version? Also, not sure how reliable a refurb is and I've never heard of A4C.com?

I got mine free with my note 7. I found the gps tracking to be OK but pointless since I run with a phone too. The hr monitor is a battery hog so I leave it on manual. What I really like this for is a notification device. It has come in so handy at times I would have missed an important call otherwise. The screen is glorious with lots of backgrounds for free or purchase. It is also indispensable as an alarm to wake me up without waking up my gf. The latest software update took the battery life from 4 days to 2 days, hopefully it gets better. But not a deal breaker to me. It charges very quickly so by the time you take a shower and eat dinner it's done.

So could I stream Google Music to my BT earbuds with this? Or does it have to be local storage?

I have wifi at the gym if that makes a difference.

No streaming, music must be stored locally. I'm not sure of any mainstream wearable that supports streaming as this would deplete the units battery rapidly. Even cellular connected wearables don't offer this feature, that I know of, because of battery life.
