Have one of these. Aside from looking like a stealth fighter, the USB port placement is weird (front middle). The interface is pretty easy to use, despite the engrish. No bandwidth meter so those looking to use up all your data cap may want to look elsewhere. Didn't find any 3rd party firmware when I looked a few months ago, but I wasn't really thorough. Wireless performance seemed good.

Nice. I just got this today from Micro Center for $59.99 - $5.00 off coupon through not me retail.

I am using this as a wifi extender/repeater since my desktop has always been connected wirelessly. Now I am installing a NAS and would like to have the NAS in my room. So connecting the NAS and desktop to this router allows me to utilize maximum speed between desktop and NAS and since the router is connected to the main router downstairs, I have internet access as well via wireless connection.

Surprisingly, my connection speed is much faster than it was before. I was using a AC600 USB wireless adapter and my internet speed was somewhat bottle necked because of the long distance between the main router to the adapter. With this router as a repeater, I am connected to another AC1900 router and both routers have very stable and good connection due to the large and long range antennas. My internet speed has gone up to max allowed by my ISP. It is practically like I am connected directly to the modem or main router via ethernet connection.

Setup currently is:

Main Router: ASUS TM-AC1900 located downstairs in living room next to modem.
2nd Router: TENDA AC18 (AC1900) located in my room upstairs, approximately 30-40ft away from the main router.
Desktop connected to TENDA AC18 via ethernet, NAS connected to TENDA AC18 via ethernet. Phone and Laptop connected to TENDA AC18 wirelessly.

My connections are much better than connecting wireless to the main router. Never will I ever go back to using a wireless network card/USB adapter ever again! This setup works best. I was expecting my phone and laptop speeds to drop significantly since they are connected to the repeater which requires the signal to be repeated. But that was not the case at all. It greatly improved my speed because I am much closer to the router. It's like adding a huge antenna to my iPhone and laptop.
