Great price for a solid little Kershaw. But I'd like to add that, from personal experience, bead blast finishes on cheaper steels like 8cr13mov require a lot of attention to keep from rusting. 8cr is somewhat prone to rusting as is, but the bead blast finish (while looking cool) massively increases the likelihood of spotting throughout the blade (and handle for that matter). If you live in any humid/damp climate areas or near the water, do not buy this knife for daily carry. Kershaw has tons of other cheap knives around this price that do not have the bead blast finish that will suite you better.

I mostly collect US made knives because they are just made a little better and are usually better steel. I do have a few of these Chinese Kershaw's and 3 out of 5 of the ones I have are starting to rust and have never even been outside. Also, they are stored in an area with LOW humidity and no drastic temp changes. So I would stay away from this garbage steel unless you want a knife that is gonna start collecting little spots of rust all over the blade and frame... I don't know if the quality control has went downhill or what, but the knives I have are all less than 6 months old and were all purchased through SD front page deals like these.

No brainer at this price, been carrying this for more than a year. Solid lockup and decent blade for urban carry. Recommend it loosen up a tiny bit as mine came a little tight on the clip and assisted action. Really light to carry too compared to most in the $20-30 range.

For 13 bucks? Nahhhhhh. I know what your saying, though. I just bought that 18 dollar Kershaw with the tanto blade the day before yesterday. I am starting to look like a collector while I am not.

Looks like nice knife. Personally though I don't like all metal handles, when I'm doing warehouse work where I would need a knife to open boxes etc, it's super hot and my hands get sweaty. My last knife like this was an all metal handle and I could lose grasp of it pretty easy with sweaty hands. So I dunno.

There is this one with a plastic handle for $13, but it's a shorter blade.

Honestly I think I'll just grab a cheapo $5 knife the next time I'm at Harbor Freight or Northern to take to work for opening boxes. That tends to ruin nice knives anyway.

Please stop posting good deals. It's only 13 dollars but all these deals are adding up.

I was just telling my friend about this knife because I saw it on Massdrop and how I got this knife at Big 5 on sale for $16. But for $13?! That's an easy decision.

This steel is fine and Kershaw's QC is as good as it's always been, but any media blasted finish on blades creates tiny little peaks and valleys on the blade's surface that can easily collect surface rust. If you're diligent and pay attention, scratching it off with a finger nail will suffice, if you leave it alone for too long, it will breach the finish and start to actually affect the blade.

Depends on what you call "nice". If you actually find value in investing in quality tools, spending 60-80 bucks on a knife can last you a very very long time if all you're doing is opening up boxes.
