TU for putting the rating in the title. Also, this seems stronger than other models. Nice find!

rating? that's not a rating, saying it's do xL engine doesn't mean much... it's still only a 600A model, which is on the weak side for this style boost pack.

those plastic clamp bodies seem chintzy from the pictures... review has a broken one, vendor sent a replacement sure, but they still don't look very beefy.

Use this regularly for work, about 20 jump starts a week, always works. Has an override for flat dead batteries. Went from a 60lb pack and love it. Also use it as a phone charger.

The clamps do have some weak points, the cable is held to the clamp with a short screw into plastic which gets ripped out.

Had same 2 packs since September, only pack failure has been the clamp. Well and the comically Asian translated instructions.

How do you maintain it? Do you keep it the gloves compartment where it can get extremely hot or cold depending on where you live. How often do you have charge it?

Checking the most recent Amazon reviews is reassuring, product well received.

Also, manufacturer seems very responsive to complaints ... that's a plus.

In4one. Thanks OP!

There's considerable debate on how hot Li-ion batteries can be stored, however, anecdotal evidence seems to support the position that they can tolerate summer heat (car) conditions even in Arizona and Nevada. As I recall, Li-ion batteries work reasonably well down to freezing, but get sluggish at around 20F. Anything lower and you'd probably want to store them indoors, out of the cold.

Manufacturer recommends recharging them every 3 months. But, again, anecdotal reports seem to indicate once every six months is fine. (The Li-ion rate of self-discharge rate is actually quite low, but I'm not sure whether there is any active electronic circuitry in the charger that actually remains on at all times and causes the batteries to slowly trickle down. Otherwise, if nothing is active, I don't see why the unit would need to be recharged more than once a year.)

It may not be a third party rating, but it is a manufacturer rating, and it's reinforced by the vast majority of positive user ratings. Also worth mentioning is the Fakespot rating of A. You see, the word rating can have many uses.

What does not have much use, is calling a product "chintzy from the pictures" and stating that "they still don't look very beefy". Your evaluation of this product based on your perception of the pictures is "chintzy" at best. Especially when you consider the aforementioned overwhelmingly positive reviews.

I don't mind being called out, but please bring an objective argument next time. Either way, thank you for contributing and taking the time in attempting to make this forum even better. Smilie

There are quite a few reviews of these catching fire while charging. Beware.
