I Have the tip. I put it on my keychain and it accidentally turned on and burned a hole in my patagonia jacket.

It has a lockout mode but it's some sort of an active hold that kills your battery in a day or two. The 'new' version of the Tip comes with a plastic clip so you can't accidentally turn it on. I wouldn't buy the TIP light without the clip.

That's a pretty good price for the Nitecore TIP, which is pretty much the gold standard for keychain USB flashlights (for the moment).

I have the nitecore tip and its pretty bright for a small keychain light. Usb rechargeable. You can lock the light by holding down the 2 buttons on there to prevent the livht from turning on by accidental press in your pocket. Make sure you get the v2 for the lock

I'd bite on the TIP, if the Nichia version was on sale.

I'm not fond of the cool white XP-G2, even though it is much brighter.

Although, I must say that the 3500K Nichia is a lot warmer tint than I like. 4000K to 4500K hits my sweet spot.

Before your drop 155 at gear best, you really should consider the remedy if light defective, return shipping to China is very expensive

The Nitecore TIP has solid build quality & is pretty bright for its size.

They just need to make the buttons simpler with one button like the Nitecore Tube instead of having separate power & mode buttons which is confusing when you have to push both buttons to unlock, and then guess which button to push to turn it on.

The TIP is IP54, so not really, probably because of the usb port.

Protection from contact with enclosed equipment
Protection from splashing water
Available in aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel
Available in wall-mounted, free standing, troughs, and JIC box
