I've been waiting on refurbished HKTS16 to return at $140. How do these compare? I might jump if it's worth the price difference.

I bought the HKTS15 set a couple of years ago and love it. About 11 months after I purchased it, the sub went out. I called HK and they troubleshot over the phone, then they sent me a label to send back all of the speakers, and let me keep the cables and mounts. Upon receiving my package, they immediately shipped me a whole replacement HKTS 15.

I'm no audiophile, but they sound terrific to me

I bought the refurbished set from a month ago and am very happy with my purchase. I paired it with a Yamaha receiver that was also a slick deal and now have a very nice sounds system for about ~$350. My living room is about 600sf and this set more than fills the room. The sub is more than enough for me, although this is the first system that I have ever used that wasn't a home theater in a box type.

With all the respect you deserve, but this is HTIB only difference is u added a good receiver with with audio brand speakers.

This is good deal because its new and not refurbished

Do these speakers have ceiling mount capabilities? Or just wall mount?

My dad bought these with the Onkyo receiver that was on SD a few weeks ago. We hooked them up last weekend and the system sounds great. That sub can push a ton of bass, I had to set the level almost at zero. Would be epic for a good action movie. My only complaint is they don't seem very loud, though that could be the receiver (or that his TV only has an analog out, not digital), not the speakers. You've gotta have the receiver set to about 50% volume before it's above normal TV listening volumes.

Definitely a good deal. I bought these about a year ago when they had a similar sale.

Audiophiles might be able to pick up issues, but as long as you have a decent receiver, there is nothing to complain about for the standard user.

These do come with wall mounting options, though they are not easy to work with. Though it should be obvious, these are wired speakers, so you'll need to run the wires through the attic space to get to the receiver.

The subwoofer packs a serious punch, as others have noted. My only complaint is that when you leave it on (but inactive) the hum that it generates is noticeable. I fix it by simply shutting off the subwoofer when done, but worth noting for people that want to hide it in a place that isn't easily accessible.

Overall, great deal if you want to get surround sound for a decent sized room.

I have this set up for similar size living room and it rattles the AC vent at about 70-80% output. However there are other cheaper products in HKTS line (15, 16, 20) that have same wattage and i think i would have been equally happy with. Ive asked HK rep what the difference and they werent really clear in terms of explanation. 30 has an additional driver in each speaker and i donno what kinda difference it makes.

Anybody happen to be familiar with the old Bose lifestyle 800 system? I've been wanting to replace mine for years and I was just wondering if this is a step up or not. Thanks.
