I just got off the phone with a Discover rep and she mentioned that they just started offering free dark web Social Security monitoring- pretty cool free benefit for cardmembers and somewhat comparable to LifeLock.

Enjoy!

Makes sense. CC companies take it in the butt with all the fraud going on.... no brainer that they would start being proactive about it.

I bet those idiots have no clue what the dark Web even is, let alone how to monitor it..
I'm sure they have enough money to hire people that do.

Buddy, you're fooling yourself if you don't think Discover, or any major CC (Amex, MC, VISA) don't have the same resources as a governmental agency.

How do you think they stay out the news when it comes to cyber attacks???? You hire the attackers and have them show you the vulnerabilities!

I'm sure if Discover is offering this protecting that they already have some regular vendors on board who participate in "the dark web" (aka Tor and co.)

"Dark Web" and "monitoring" don't go together. Its encrypted and the sources concealed.

Its like searching someone's belongings for bitcoins.

People don't understand what TOR is.

But do they offer dark web price protection? What if I hire a hit-man, then find that the price has dropped a week later?
