I hate to be cynical, but really, some ebooks suddenly voted all the way up and over 1k reviews?

Are these more new authors? Getting tired of starting or getting half way through novels and the author decides to add a bunch more pages in previous chapters and if you continue reading, then it doesnt make sense because you missed 12 pages in the last "update". Then there's the novels that you can tell is missing a bunch of story line and you have to wait for the update.

Breakers series got me. I got this free a while back and upgraded to Audible....I ended up listening to all 8. With these, it's cheaper to buy the Kindle version and add Audible compared to paying for Audible.

I now have dozens and dozens of these free books in my Kindle collection. I have a hard enough time reading the books that are actually good, and all this other stuff just clutters up my library.

So now I have to periodically go through and get rid of the shit that was spammed, and hope that I'm not actually deleting something that I bought for 99 cents and is worth my time.

No different than all these other 'free' and cheap deals with my Steam Account, various video services, Google Music, etc. Too much clutter.

Now +37 thumbs up???

I'm trying to be as gentle about this as I can, but sometimes this site is used as a promotional tool for various outlets, often for cheap chinese tech, as just one example, and I don't like it.

Even if it's cheap Chinese tech, did you get it for free? You have to judge free things differently then paying money. If I get cheap tech for free and it broke, I'd say oh well it's free. Not be critical of it, nothing in this world is "free".

This is obviously a promo get 3 books for free, and then spend $10 on 4 - 9. They want you to get hooked and then buy the rest. But the point comes back again ITS FREE, take advantage!! If you enjoy the 3 books great buy the other ones, if not well you didn't spend any money.

I read Debt Collector a few months back. It was meh. Funny thing is certain words and phrases were wrong. Guessing the author is British or something. Either way, it detracted from the book.

Right - What do the Brits know about the English language?
