What's better, this or the Escort Passport S55 on Newegg for $112?

What exactly is leaking out of your radar detector? 🤔

Radar !! Cobras are total crap that makes good radar detectors go off for miles cause they are not well made and they also do a crap job at detection. Save your money for something better and don't buy this junk

Walmart has it for two bucks cheaper using in store pickup.
(Amazon still less if you're using the 5% store card discount.)

I'd like to hear from someone who isn't wearing a tinfoil hat, if possible.

I just bought one of these (for 152, I wish they still offered price adjustments). It's a great little detector. I like the fact that you can filter out the collision detection systems on newer cars (which give false alerts if you can't filter them)

This isn't a Cobra, nor is it made by Cobra. I have owned one of these, and it's detection range is not great but it has built in GPS and does a really good job of filtering out false alerts and identifying for you whether you're picking up police band radar or lane departure warning systems. The next best radar detector is probably well over 2 times this price (Escort Passport Max 2) unless you want to buy a Uniden which I would also consider an offbrand. If you're going to spend under 250 bucks this is not a bad choice and it's wayyy under that 250 mark.

But if you want a more legit RD, save up 400-600 bucks and buy a Radenso. Still there is a huge gap between 107 dollars and 400 dollars to tell someone to just simply save up more money.

it's down to 105.24 now. Hopefully I can talk customer service into adjusting the price for me, otherwise I'll just rebuy and return

Got a credit of 47 bucks....saves me the trouble of returning it

I'd rather be protected by the V1 if I'm going on the highway or open city roads. If the area contains many hills or a lot of buildings, I'd go UR3.

did a lil search on net, seems rich in features, but range is short, even compared to aged escort 8500x50 (half the range)
