Even though it is no longer supported. MY son still plays it 50% of his gaming time.

Okay dumb question, but is there any value in having 5 starter packs? They are all the same figures right?

The single player, local co-op and stand alone creation mode still works on consoles right?

Which chars does play the most? Do you have any recommendation for a 7 year old? Thanks in advance.

I'm aware I could find out with some searching, but would anybody be kind enough to explain to me what effect the lack of support has? What kind of features or content is now unavailable?

without support, user generated content is no longer available. Part of this product was the "sandbox", a Minecraft like world where users could make their own adventures. In the past, you could download what others had posted and play.

Correct. The main impact of the servers shutting down is sharing worlds.

He likes doing Avengers vs Avengers... We have almost all the Marvel Figures and many of the star wars

We went all-in on the Star Wars side of things. Though some are automatic, all of the SW characters can be unlocked in all 3 of the SW campaigns. The game's controls aren't great, but it's fun enough to play through at least once. Characters with both a gun and a lightsaber (Kanan, Ezra) are the most useful

Not sure if you can still download community levels, but most of them were awful, so either way you're not missing out on much in that regard.
