Jet has the LG G5 H830 [jet.com] 32GB T-Mobile smartphone in silver for $212.37 after coupon and a filler item. Add an inexpensive filler from the electronics category [jet.com] to reach $250 or more and apply code ITSELECTRIC40 at checkout. The total with two 3', CAT 6 ethernet cables [jet.com] is $212.37 (before tax). Opt out of free returns and save an additional $4.54.

BuySpry via Ebay [ebay.com] also has the LG G5 H830 in silver for $199.99 with free shipping. This was a prior popular deal that is now available again. However, SDers have reported that BuySpry is selling opened phones with modified software.

The H830 is GSM unlocked but does not have full LTE band compatibility with carriers that use the AT&T network.

From recent negative feedback of eBay seller on this item. "The device is NOT sealed, it comes with a very weird ROM, not the T-Mobile's." "Was sold a software modified device new, unauthorized software breaks some apps." "LG G5 was not new. Be careful. The T-mobile seal was broken and resealed! Used!"

That's why I also posted the Jet deal as an alternative after I noticed some negative comments in the previous thread. Newegg is most likely fulfilling Jet orders for this.

Some insist that the G3, G4, G5, and various other LG phones all invariably suffer from catastrophic failure (most often, bootloop).

But it's only the G4 which is absolutely, positively plagued by such faults.

I wouldn't trust a G4 to be my primary cell phone, but for the right price I'd buy a G5. (I currently have a G3, which has always served me well.)

I have the Verizon version. No boot loop. But does have screen burn in after 6 months and infamous GPS issue like all other LG phones. Also missing a lot of features from G4 like the screen is smaller, curved phone is gone, multi window is gone and accessing gallery from Camera (this one is absolutely retarded). But does have wide angel camera and touch sensor unlock.

Huh? My G5 does multi window and I can access the gallery from my camera.

The listing itself says "Android Pay Will NOT Work".

That's a pretty strong indicator that the seller has tampered with the software, probably for the purposes of network-unlocking it without carrier approval.

If anyone can confirm with absolute certainty that these devices have been tampered with by BuySpry, I'll remove the BuySpry option from my post.

I would have directed everyone towards Jet, but it's about $12 more plus tax. It's still a very good price at Jet, just not $200 good.

I purchased my LG G5 from that eBay seller and the seal was broken and the firmware was unauthorized. I had to flash the phone to be able to use Android Pay and to eventually get security updates from T-Mobile.

The details regarding android pay was not there when I and many other people purchased it the last time this seller was on the FP. It was only added after he started getting return requests for item not as described so he is clearly aware of the issues regarding the condition of this phone but he still refuses to acknowledge the box has been resealed and the software as been tampered with. At least not publicly. He blames his supplier when you message him privately but his auction continues to misleads people into thinking these are factory sealed untampered devices. What does that tell you about the integrity of this seller?

If all the detailed complaints from the last thread aren't enough to deter OP from posting this deal from BuySpry, then he is truly doing a disservice to this community who are going to buy this phone with unofficial software on it that voids the warranty and prevents any future updates from T-Mobile. Ask yourself, does that sound like a "New" phone to you?

Other tell tale signs are the broken factory seal, missing T-Mobile sim card, and mismatching software version on the label of the box compared to what is on the phone. Then again, if you wish to ignore the warnings in the previous thread, then you have only yourself to blame when you get a phone that has no warranty or future updates. Don't say noone warned you.

Attaching a pic of the seal on the box. Does this look like an unbroken factory seal to you?
