Go with ips/va, tn is really only good for competitive gaming at 100+hz.

FYI. Newegg has the same price. Could be better deal considering tax for some.

That backlight bleed issue is a major turnoff. Unfortunate, since everything else about this monitor seems perfect.

It's going to be a while before 2K 144hz+ monitors will be affordable...

Can anyone recommend a similar spec'd panel with freesync? VA/IPS panel but VA would be preferential for me.

Newegg return policy is terrible, I wouldn't recommend risking the perfect pixel/no blb lottery anywhere except Best buy or amazon.com orders

Amazing deal if you are looking for an IPS Panel for gaming, otherwise the Dell TN Panel is $200 cheaper. You will not beat this deal with these specs for an IPS Panel though, I've been looking for a month and this is the best I've found. Everything else is either FreeSync, a TN Panel, lower refresh rate (MHz), or slow response time.

The same problem plagues other IPS G-Sync monitors, too.

As I stated above, same problems, these 2 brands are not immune.

The Dell S2716DG was $299 on Black Friday, that's a 2K 144hz monitor.

Provided you're running an AMD card, you can always check here: http://www.144hzmonitors.com/

If you've only been looking for a month, you haven't been shopping very long, but I don't completely disagree.

What I take issue with is that you're paying a hefty premium for a "premium" product with continuing QC issues, regardless of brand (Asus, Acer, etc, they're all the same, just rebranded) - rampant stories of backlight bleed, dead pixels, etc. are completely unacceptable at this price point. I wouldn't pay a premium to buy a 1080Ti video card then have it perform worse than a 1080, or pay a premium for a Ferrari and have it get beaten in a race by a Kia! laugh out loud
