That chip is very very old.... 7 years old to be exact and pre-dates the E3/E5 and E7 series.

This was a kick-ass machine back in its day, but I wouldn't spend $700 on such an old PC (at least not without dual X5690s).

This processor is 6 or 7 generations behind the current one so $700 for this system is not reasonable. Probably not worth half this price.

Just get a brand new Ryzen 1700X processor and build a system that can easily run circles around this ... this is old technology ... don't be fooled by the number of cores

There's two CPUs though. 24 cores. Something tells me a Ryzen might not touch that.

They're about even, assuming probably 100% efficiency of dual processors on all cores in a purely CPU intensive environment. That being said, in most real world applications, Ryzen would be the winner.

It's 12 cores. 24 THREADS. In addition to the poor value proposition as others have pointed out, it's a power hog. Fine so long as someone else is paying your utility bill, but most will want a more modern, efficient CPU.

it's not going to run circle, 12 CPU will do some damages, high power consumption though.

I paid 350 bucks for mine last year. they're not bad.
