I have the Cosmic 40 in the long length, and it is awesome. It packs down small and has been great on many camping and canoe trips in late summer/early fall in northern MN.

For reference, I am 6'2" and it has plenty of length for me (again, I have the long length bag). I have pretty broad shoulders and it is a little snug there, but I have that problem with most light hiking bags, so I don't hold it against this bag.

Mummy style sleeping bags are very uncomfortable if you like leg room.

The cosmic series has always been a solid value for the money. Never the best down nor the lightest weight denier fabric but for a fact it's a solid 20F bag. A great beginner bag or one to let friends borrow when going hiking

Just purchased the Kelty Cosmic 40! My sleeping bag now is too big for bike camping so this is a great replacement! Thank you!

I ordered a couple of the youth bags for the kids. They seem to pack up a whole lot smaller and are a lot lighter than Coleman bags we recently purchased. The coleman are huge and pain to lug to sleepovers. The last time my son had a sleepover he asked if he could just bring a blanket so he didn't have to carry it. Hopefully the kelty will work out better.

True, but they're incredibly efficient at retaining body heat and the decreased bulk makes them ideal for backpacking.

Tough to beat a treated down sleeping bag for $60 - even if it's only 600 fill power...too heavy if you're looking to do the PCT, APT, etc.... but definitely a great deal for those weekend campers.

Down isn't always better, it depends on what you want. I've camped in cold climates in rainy seasons where down wouldn't have worked.

Lighter lb for lb of insulation, yes and packs smaller, but unless you get the high dollar treated down, not good if you get it wet.
