It depends in some cases. I wasn't able to transfer from spinning disk to SSD on one of my systems set up for UEFI boot. I ended up using DISM to capture the source disk to .wim then applying it to my new SSD after manually partitioning it. I think part of my issue was from going to a 4k SSD from a 512 byte spinning disk. I also ended up using this trick to migrate to UEFI from legacy BIOS.

I used to use Acronis, but found that Easeus was just as good for my needs and 100% free for all my computers.
