Haven't seen a better deal on these from Jos A Bank in a while. Their last best price was 2 for $20 in December.

isn't woodlore (owned by Allen Edmonds) the supplier of these to Jos A Bank and Nordstrom? Jos A Bank often has better deals on these.

Yup you're right this is a good deal right now. I vaguely recall some 3 for $25 deal sometime recently from JAB.

How much better are cedar shoe trees over the $1 plastic ones from IKEA?

I use the plastic shoe trees for shoes that I wear maybe twice a year, so not sure if I should switch to cedar in that situation.

I have used these shoe trees. They are not good, the metal links came apart in mine. I recommend Allen edmonds shoe trees

IMO you'll be fine with the plastic ones you have. Cedar is supposed to minimize moisture and smell. If you're only wearing your shoes twice a year, neither of those will be a problem. The third benefit of shoe trees -- maintaining your shoes' shape -- will be served fine by the ones you have from Ikea.

Edit: that being said, I just purchased 4 pairs of these as I wear a number of different dress shoes throughout the month laugh out loud

The problem with the ones from IKEA is the long arch that's generated by the metal spring when you insert it fully in to the shoe. That creates extra upwards pressure and over time will stretch the material (especially leather).

Yes and no. Both Rochester Shoe Trees and Woodlore made them for Jos A Bank. Rochester makes their split toe, so it's not the same. Not worse necessarily. In fact, maybe better since the heel is wider.
