this osd unit is garbage. sound quality, features and controls don't compare to even the lowest priced zvox soundbase units. i wouldn't waste your money. i couldn't even get my harmony remote to control it and it doesn't even have dolby digital decoding. junk......

newer seen their sound bar - but their subwoofer is really good for the money Wink + I own their speaker selector (generally got it because of banana connectors ! w/o braking the bank) ! no complaints ! Rock

I can't understand this soundbar.
Don't think it's really a soundbar. More of a soundbox. Apparently it's pretty large and heavy (like 34lbs according to reviews?) It also already has the subs built-in if i'm not mistaken. Seems interesting for the price. Would like to hear more from people who actually own it. didn't see any professional reviews from a quick search but I'll have to check further.

Would really like to see how this compares to the $150 Polk/sub deal I've had for the past 2 weeks, Not entirely happy with it, but not sure on this product...

Sorry to go off topic. I just picked up the LG 4.1 SJ8 for $199 at Fry's and they paid sale tax for me too...I wonder if its a good deal? I'm still deciding if I should keep or return...I tested it and its OK...gave me a bit of surround sound...

Would love to hear that LG. Would have gladly paid an extra $50 to get something better then the Polk. The subs good but the soundbar is light and lowish in sound quality. That LG was supposedly a pretty good deal so I'd give it a good testing to see if you feel it's a solid deal at $199 or not. Seems Sony, Samsung, and Polk all intentionally sell pretty neutered products in that price range as to make sure that the lower to mid-range products can't possibly compete with the higher end.

Any idea if this deal for the LG is still going on? Smilie

These are junk. Organization I work for bought around 100 of these for classrooms amd they sound terrible at any amount of volume. At low volume and watching TV these are okay, listening to music they are poor to worthless.

The bass is weak and very muffled, the mids are good with a nice full well rounded sound, the highs are worthless and very high pitched. The high tones are so far from the mids it makes for a noticeable gap in sound.

2 4in bookshelf speakers will blow these away.

yeah I re-watched the whole Transformers 1 and Pirate of Caribbean 1 with it and it felt pretty good...the only concern I have, which is also weird i think, is the length of the bar..it's a bit too long (That's what she said, right? haha)

FYI I bought the Yamaha ATS-1060 from Costco in store last week for $119+tax (Costco version of the YAS-106 by all accounts). Absolutely blown away with the sound quality and features especially the bass considering it doesn't have a separate sub. Simple to set up with 4K HDMI passthrough /HDCP 2.2, includes ARC for remote integration supports DTS surround. Highly recommended compared to this OSD unit that seems clunky for A/V integration.

Very odd that this item has received 15 thumbs up but no one has had a single positive thing to say about it in this thread. Not even the usual spammy people with their comments like "this fills the room with sound in my apartment," or "just what I was looking for Thanks!." Then the people who make those types of comments scurry away to never be heard from again...

But not a single one here. Hmmmm.....

Mine just came today. What can I say? I immediately paired my phone with it and was very happy with the sound. Got it for my living room for my 58" Samsung. Sounds 1000x better than the TV alone and set up was a breeze. Yes, the remote is dinky, but the unit seems very high quality for $99 shipped no tax. I'm happy so far. Bass is pretty incredible. I'm not an audiophile, but it makes my TV sound better and I'm happy.
