Been looking for replacement phones for some older Panasonic cordless which have poor latency, which is the gap in time from when you pickup the phone or hit talk until you can actually talk and be heard on the other end(connect time). I hope these are better. Gotta love the features that Panasonic packs into these phones.

Anyone still have landline at home?
Ooma, plus a 5 handset Panasonic like this one. It gives us a central number for utilities, emegencies, school registrations, etc. And you never have to worry about where you left your cell phone, is it charged, etc. Definitely worth it over the years. Plus you can tether it to your cell via bluetooth, basically ringing your cell from 6 places. Pretty handy.

Yep...no cell service whatsoever. So do many thousands of my neighbors...

Ob200. Paid about $25 about 3 years ago. Free VOIP with Google Voice. Have only paid $15/yr to Anveo for E911. One of my best investments ever.

VOIP is great ...if one has a reasonable ISP offering reasonable speeds. Not only do some areas have little to no cell service, they also have little to no internet access...other than satellite which negates much of the VOIP savings. In short, not worth the trade-off here in the wilderness,

I believe you can connect cell phones via Bluetooth. No landline needed.

Yes they are not called landline, they are called cell phone finders now, they work great when your cell phone is in the house and you don't know where it is at.
