Need another 39 $ adapter for it to work with Xbox one S

For what it's worth: Xbox One Kinect is dead as far as I know. Don't expect a lot of new games to work for it. To be able to record the last few seconds of something you just did, it might be worth it to some (there's a console key way to do it as well, but less convenient)

I upgraded from an Xbox One to Xbox One S so microsoft was able to send the adapter for free. When my girlfriend bought an Xbox One S, we were able to convince the customer service to send her a free adapter even though she didnt upgrade from an Xbox One to Xbox One S.

I think the adapter should of been included with the kinect sensor or redesign the sensor bar so it would work with either system. As it stands now paying $40 for an adapter because the device doesn't work with what Microsoft sells is expensive and wasteful.

The Dance games that are available are a lot of fun to play and provide a really good workout if you do exactly what is done on screen. Also you have kinect fruit ninja which the kids always enjoy. Other than that its dead.

I bought one for the upstairs living room. We have two Xbox One S systems and it saves me from having to run the bar and adapter up and down the stairs two or more times a day for the family.

I went to Gamestop looking for this but the guy was like $50 and you need a $40 adapter and you'll likely only be playing Just Dance and the old games, because they've stopped pushing for the Kinect. Sooo unless you're okay with that, it's a waste of money cause it's literally dead.

I used it just to be lazy and open Netflix.
But my one s needs an adapter that's $45 bucks. They are intentionally killing it off.

what a shame, the 360 had a lot of fun games like Kinect Party, kung fu high impact, Starwars, and a few others but the new one had crap. Funny that they insisted on it for the first 2 years of the xbox life and it probably cost them billions and now they just want to kill it. Augmented relatity is pretty cool I am sure they will screw that up too.

They are still the cheapest structured light scanners you can buy. You do not need an adapter if you have skills. You just have to inject power into it. There are plenty of guides online. Easy, peasy. You only need an adapter if you are unskilled.

I'd prefer to use it properly by the plug and play method, as intended by the manufacturers. I do not support any "rigging" of sorts.

The "rigging" is minor. Your Xbox S or PC will never know. All the adapter does is supply power since it can't get it through the USB port. Just solder in a separate power connector and it works fine. But once again, people with skills make it work. People without skills have to pay.
