I have very little rep because this is the first deal I've found that I thought was worth posting(I usually search here first). The truth is I'm just an SDer that was in the same situation you're in. I bought the Jim Beam Bradley Smoker that was front page a few days ago and decided to get this to make smoking even easier. I noticed it was posted here before at $30, so I thought it must be a good deal.

With the mixed reviews I hesitated buying/posting this, but other SDers noticed that this might be a re-badged Maverick thermometer which sells for $59.99(Maverick ET 732). Worth the risk for me at this price.

Clearly a re-badge. Great prices. Good range on the 732, The 733 display is harder to read, by the way

I've been using this up until my batteries corroded/leaked in the transmitter. Also not long after I got it, the plastic shell of the antenna broke off on the receiver.

Otherwise it's worked fine thought the user interface isn't that friendly.

Time to buy another one.

I've had an ET-733 for years. It has been absolutely awesome. Substantially better range than my thermoworks smoke. It's still using the original probes after countless cooks. This is also a really good deal--I paid $43 and that was pretty decent back then.

In 4 1. I have an ivation and it's worked good for 3 years. Cheaper to buy a second thermometer than a 4 probe one

I've had this for about 2 years, works well, but sometimes you have to re-sync the units.(hold a button on the back of the transmitter) And of course the user interface is way counter- intuitive. But once you learn, simple. I would definitely buy this again for $20.

I've owned both of these through the years and like the extra features on the 733. For this price it's a no brainer considering replacement probes cost nearly this much.

I've had the cheaper model for about a year and am relatively pleased with it. Considered buying a second one at this price, but I was told it wasn't needed.

I have this and it simply does not work. Maybe I got a lemon. The temp readings are way off the other couple meat thermometers in my kitchen drawers. It was also a real pain to sync.

I have the 733 rebrand. It works well. Things to know and be prepared.

When you get it test it to make sure it's working and accurate. Boil some water and put both probe and see if they get similar temperature.

Warning and the problem with these probes, the area where probe and wire meets is not water proof so make sure it never touch water or it will go bad. This I believe is what happens to most that reports going bad. Beyond that these are the same as the branded one.

I need one of these but I can't convince myself to buy one with all the 5 star biased reviews and all the 1 star problem reviews.

733 caused me programming and battery life issues. Going back to the 732. Thanks op
