long term reliability with these is very questionable. you've been warned

price wise is solid. just make sure to buy with a credit card that gives you an extra year or two warranty. there is a good chance you will have to use it

i did. and it shyte the brick. got my money back by filing an extended warranty claim with credit card

the reviews are hit or miss on Home Depot. at this price it's worth a shot. just make sure you use a credit card with an extended warranty. keep in mind though, that 1000W is peak. you're looking at probably 600W-800W continuous

I tried fixing the link. Not sure what's going on. Hope it works for you now. I believe the link works on desktop but for some reason does not work for mobile devices. Don't know how to fix this.

What died on yours? Inverter, alternator or engine?

I picked up one the last time this was on sale. Don't use it much - my Wen 2000W inverter idles quieter than this for higher wattages.

Bought one for around this price from HD last winter. Followed your advice about putting in some cheap oil and running it for a few hours. Drained it real good... Any tips on that? Seems like draining all sorts of small engines is always a PITA and messy. Put in M1E synthetic and turned the gas off and pulled it a couple times to clear the carb, like you'd mentioned before.

Overall, for the price, I think it's a good little generator. It's so quiet, you could talk on speakerphone next to it. And it seems to put out at least 1000w, since it powered by 1200w heat gun on high. Bought it for camping because it's tiny... About the size of two shoe boxes.

yeah these inverter generators always get messy when draining oil. you would think they would make it easier, but only a few models actually have an effective lip/ramp edge in the plastic casing that allows it to flow out in one direction. sometimes it requires a certain angle to be tilted at, otherwise it doesn't reach the ramp and it spills out all over the inside of the case. yep...i've done it LMFAO

Or when it breaks, buy another and return broken one with new receipt... Until they start putting serials on everything and scanning them, should be easier than dealing with CC company.

haha! shhh, you know you're not supposed to do that OMG

I actually never have, but a friend does it for ast everything at HD. I have no clue how they haven't banned him. Hell return used saw blades and just about anything like that.
