I would suggest getting it from bestbuy I've seen the 55 go down to 1299 there and you can pm. These are very fragile and shipping is risky

It's a good idea to pm at Best Buy, plus you can get it same day instead of waiting for shipping.

From what I understand, there is no Dolby Vision support on this TV. Not sure how important that is, but seems most TVs are coming with DV and HDR10 support.

The 930 will have it with a firmware update...but it's significantly more expensive.

Why would you get this instead of the LG OLED TVs that seem to go on sale for the same price?

Honestly not a huge deal unless you're getting OLED imo. Also, the content isn't quite there yet. But if you're trying to be super future proof, I guess you gotta have what you gotta have.

The price for the OLEDs aren't even close to this. 55inch OLED are $2000 right now while this is $1299.

OLED's go on sale for this price or close. Sony is overpriced on everything the offer. 2017 lineup of TV's from everyone but that TCL is a rip off and garbage. You would have to be a fool to buy any TV in 2017 that is not OLED since 2017 models are worse then 2016 and higher priced.

I'd love to see your evidence. Some models/brands (like Samsung ks8000 vs Q7F have gone down from 2016->2017), but not all. This TV scores great at RTINGS.com where the objectively grade individual aspects of the TV.

This is a great TV unlike samsung and LG garbage for 2017. But at almost $1400 (w/tax), not a great deal for 55-inch TV

Sony 9-series is one of better options for non-OLED TV for 2017

I would pay $1500 for this TV if it were 65-inch.
