Last minute deal on a phone for the sprint.com/1yearfree offer. Lots of stock everywhere around me.

Something to consider if you were on the fence. $74 for a phone, then ~$45 for a year of postpaid unlimited service on Sprint is too good to pass up.

It is also a universal phone, so works on any of the Big 4 and their MVNOs that support BYOD Applause

How does the sprint deal work? Do we have to activate the phone on a different provider and then switch it to sprint? Or can we simply just take the unlocked phone directly to sprint and get the deal?

From post paid only? Darn.

But it is only 45 bucks for a whole year? As in 4 dollars a month?

Correct. 45 a month unlimited. I believe it goes to 60 after.. I'm not 100%. Sure. There is a thread dedicated to it.

Brickseek says in stock, but free pickup in store says no love.

Should I expect no stock in store ?

What's correct, 4 dollars a month as stated, or 45 a month???

As an fyi, my father has one of these phones and has issues with his GPS hardware in his phone. Doing a Google search revealed that it's a common problem. Make sure to do your due diligence. Though for that price even if you have a problem you wouldn't be out very much.

FWIW - I've had the most luck on YMMV walmart deals if/when the walmart app shows an aisle location for the store I'm headed to.
