I've been looking for a belt drive for a few weeks and come across this. Cheapest per the camels, I've seen it cheaper on SD, but it's a long long time ago.

https://www.amazon.com/Chamberlai...belt+drive

This comes with the gateway that are normally $50, but is currently on clearance for $20 at home depot.

Is this enough power for a two car garage door with Miami-Dade hurricane strength doors?

most of the weight is handled by your garage door springs, not the opener

Depends on how tight your springs are. If you can raise and lower your door with your middle finger or ring finger, yes. If not, you need to have your springs retightened by a professional, never ever do yourself. Or get a 3/4 or 1.25 hp unit.

I have the LiftMaster with MyQ and I like the ability to control from my phone and check the status of the door but I have recently been adding some Hooke automation and the MyQ platform does not integrate easily with any of these systems. MyQ has been promising integration but has consistently failed to deliver.

If you are good with knowing all of this, I would feel good about this product.

I was looking for the exact same model to go on sale....saw the price go down on amazon this morning and thought i'll post and then found your post Smilie
I bought this on amazon.... would have loved to buy it from Home Depot or Lowes for easier returns but none seem to be carrying them...i am guessing its an older model?
I really dont want to spend more than this to get a "smart" garage door opener...i dont need the Wi Fi models.. I am fine with connecting the gateway to my router...
Is this still a good buy?

Interesting that there is not much interest on this.. Last week deal on Craftsman from Sears turned out to be a really good deal... This is also in the same price range... probably lower on the HP... But better in terms of brand and support? But no interest at all...

Wow, that is a good price. I paid $229 at Lowes in April.

The motor/garage is so quiet now, the dog never hears me drives in.

Do you have a double garage or single garage? I'm worried the 1/2 hp may be a little more noisy compared to the 1 1/4 hp version because it has to work harder.

Searching SD history, I've seen this particular model priced lower, but it was in 2014 and older. In terms of older model, I believe this is a current model. The lowest this model goes for is $135 in 008/2015 without the internet gateway. If you add in $20 for the internet gateway, then this deal is about $22 more expensive.

If you're patient, you can probably find a more powerful model at similar price point. EG: Perhaps you can get a WD1000WF or WD950WF for $199.

I jumped on this deal because I like to get things done and dont' want to wait any longer. This is the best price this month imo.

Single door for 2 cars. It's actually pretty quiet. Although I have the version with 1 1/2 horsepower. I'm guessing this version on sale will just be slower opening...

The "belt" makes the whole system quiet (like the belts for radiators), compared to those noisey chain-belt systems. I guess the closest noise comparison would be to those cars/SUV's with automatic/power-trunk or liftgates.
