  • Features multi-stages, 100% diamond abrasives and flexible stropping discs, the XV creates the Trizor EdgeSelect edge which helps prolong the life of quality knives by applying a triple-bevel arch-shaped edge that resists dulling longer than conventionally sharpened hollow-ground or V-shaped edges.

This reputable sharpener made the front page several times before, I got it last time for $117 at Amazon, but now its available for $109 at Bon-Ton. This coupon is one day only.

At checkout use coupon ZONLINEJL31 ($50 off $100),
then add coupon FREESHIP75

https://www.bonton.com/sc1/chef-s...?cart=true

Note: the Brushed-Metal model is available for $129 after coupon.
Info:
To compare, Amazon currently has it for $152.99 [amazon.com], and the brushed metal is $149 [amazon.com]

The platinum is out of stock but the brushed metal model is still available [bonton.com]. Thank you to the posters who pointed this out.

I have this and love it. This is a great price. Works on both western and eastern edged blades (and actually we've taken most of our Wustofs down to a 15 degree using this).

any of you guys have the brushed metal one? Am curious to see how it looks but cant find a decent picture online.
In terms of functionality does it matter whether its brushed metal or plastic? e.g. easier to clean?

Never really had to clean it, nothing on it that would get dirty (it lives in a cupboard until we need to sharpen something). Mine looks like metal but it's plastic.

IMHO, there's no need to spring for the more expensive metal model; the internal mechanisms are the same and it's already heavy enough not to go anywhere while you're sharpening.

Yes, its one of the best electric sharpeners, the review by Americas Test Kitchen (link in post) demonstrate it and compare it to other brands

Love this sharpener. I thought I was keeping my knives reasonably sharp with a manual pull-through sharpener but this is night and day. If you cook with tomatoes often it's worth it for those alone.

I also love this sharpener. I would recommend testing/practicing on a knife you don't love tho, as it takes some swipes to get it right. Bought this a few months ago from amazon, and paid about 20+ more and don't regret it. Was price shopping this for a while, and this is def a great deal if you were looking for this model.
