Best Buy offers the Google Home and Philips Hue Color 3rd Gen Starter Kit Package for $208.99 shipped. Regularly going for $309 or more, that takes $100 off the going rate for both items separately. It also saves you $20 from our previous mention. Google Home carries a 4.7/5 star rating, while the Hue Starter Kit is rated at 4.4/5 stars.

The Google Home is normally $129 and works amazingly well with Hue and other smart devices.

If you pair it with a Harmony for instance, you can say "Hey Google, it's movie time" and it will turn on all the devices for the movie to play and it will also adjust the hue lights according to how you want to dim it.

Before I leave my house I usually have the Home play a radio station (automatic through iHeart), yes it's unnecessary but I like having ambient sounds for my dog when I'm away, call me crazy.. but then again owning a "smart" home is also crazy and unnecessary but is hella fun.

I also have Home set my alarms for my clocks for the next day. It's also fun to have when you just want to ask it normal tasks.

Gen 3 bulbs are the latest and normally the kit itself goes for $199 so the fact that you get both, is quite a good deal.

Basically this is everything you would need to have Home control your lights and do day to day tasks, the things I mentioned above with the TV and stuff would require a Harmony hub/remote.

I want the hue kit, but already have a Google home... Can't they just discount the hue?!

About a year ago the had an echo/hue gen 3 package I bought for a similar price. Didn't need the echo so I returned it and got retail back for it leaving all of the $100 discount on the hue. YMMV as this is a different deal and they may have learned from their mistake.

How would they return it if your receipt only shows it as a package deal?

Sorry I don't recall. I THINK it was separate on the invoice they mailed and that's why it worked. I can't find the thread and was unable to find the email confirmation (also don't have a BB account).

It says on the site:
Package price no longer valid if you return one of the items.
