Good price on these. Back a few years ago they would go on sale for $150/each. Pretty big towers and fairly deep. $277 and change w/tax to my zip.

Yep, I think it was your recommendations back in the day that got me into these. I had a pair of 'em in my man cave and a pair of 'em in my livingroom. I've upgraded to RTi12s in the man cave since, but... pretty solid speakers for the money.

Outside of rebates (once in a lifetime at Newegg back in the day), I've never seen these cheaper. $150/ea. was the gold standard... NE did a "tech deals week" where they hit $139/ea. So this is the new low (again, outside of rebates) as best I can tell... and I have deal alerts set up for them.

Yeah, several years ago I had all three of the Monitor SII towers (50's, 60's and 70's) and really enjoyed them. The center CS2 SII matches these towers, but it might be hard to find that now days. Newegg.com does have the CS1 SII center on sale today for $79.99. That uses 5.25" drivers where as the CS2 uses 6.5". CS1 would still work with the 70's, just that the drivers aren't the exact same size and actually match the 50's and 60's perfectly.

Best speakers for the money-IMO. I've had them for 5 yrs or so. I'll only upgrade when I build a house with a dedicated theater. As others have said, Cs2 center is perfect with them.

Do you have the matching CSI A6 center? If not there is one for $156 on amazon through electronics expo (probably not for long now) which is a crime. Open box and brand new and I can vouch for them along with most people. I picked up the A6 Center from them which was new but just the box was damaged probably because the damn thing weighs 30 pounds for around $180 I think. I didn't care about timbre matching the monitor 50's and the CS1 center served me well but I had to jump on it and it's on a different stratosphere.

This thread is funny because like SO many of us we all hit the newegg polk sales many many years ago and I just yesterday I retired my front monitor 50's for a pair of KEF Q300 before they were gone for good. Now going from the 50's to the KEF's is more like a different Universe than the Polks which everybody would tell you anyways and I hope you do some research and get something a bit better than Polks bottom line, or maybe 2nd bottom now with their crappy new release.

I was actually freaked out because I had music going on for 30 minutes and I went to shut my center off and I realized it was off which is what is what fronts are supposed to do and for the first time in my life heard true hi-fi stuff.

Wow these take me back. I bought these as my first foray into HT. I have since upgraded but they served me well. Still have them and the matching center kicking around in the closet. Good buy.

Yep, got the CSI A6 center and two pairs of Monitor 40 IIs for side and rear surrounds. So my rear stage doesn't match, but it has served me well.

Agreed on the CS2 match. That's what I used with my man cave 70s. I had to use a CS1 with my living room setup as the CS2 was too tall to fit under my wall mounted TV and too deep to safely rest on the mantle.

How do these compare to the other polk speakers (330T) on sale (FP) for 150/ pair? Also could I pair the 250C center with these?
