This is slightly more expensive than the last Best Buy deal, but it comes with a 1TB SSD instead of 512GB.

This model is apparently using the Samsung SM961 SSD, which is the same as the Samsung 960 EVO. That is probably the fastest NVMe SSD outside of the Samsung 960 Pro.

If you don't need top of the line graphics (but still pretty good), this is a beast of a machine in a pretty slick package.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Did you understand that this is a light 2-in-1, designed for productivity Tasks, like Dell XPS 15, not for gaming? It provides a balance between performance, battery life and portability. Fitting a GTX 1070 or GTX 1060 inside a thin 2-in-1 Laptop is simply ridiculous because it will not do any good. Due to the huge power consumption, it will sacrifice battery life; due to cooling requirement, it will be heavy and if they still want to keep it thin, then it will throttle like hell due to poor cooling. And GTX 1060 will, still not be able to game at 4K with 40 fps output.
If you want a gaming Laptop, why not look for those. At this price, there are plenty of them available with GTX 1060 graphics. Coming to a 2-in-1 Deal and saying it has to be a gaming Laptop for being a smoking hot deal is kind of idiotic, don't you think?

This is one of the dumbest comments I have seen on Slickdeals. You realize this is a 2-1 productivity ultrabook and not a gaming laptop right? Do you also go into threads for Toyota Prius and complain about lack of towing capacity? Do you go into threads for headphones and complain about lack of 7.4.6 Dolby Atmos? Do you go into threads for Victoria Secret sales and complain about lack of men's clothing? Do you go into $100 monitor threads and complain about lack of 144Hz refresh?

Use some common sense.

I have the 512GB version of this, otherwise identical, from the Best Buy deal.

The only gaming I do is D3/SCII when I travel and this 1050 is perfect. The true Quad-core processor (8 threads with HT) is what make this machine shine.

I do recommend changing out the thermal paste, it makes a big difference. I used Arctic MX-4 [amazon.com] and I notice the fan only comes on when I put a load on the system now.

Is the performance of the 2gb 1050 any different than the 4gb 1050 aside from the VRAM size?

God this would be perfect if it had a 1060 instead or at least a 1050 ti
Yeah it definitely would be. I had the same thoughts initially and was on the fence between something slimmer, 4k, better battery life versus getting something with a 1050ti or 1060. Ultimately I decided to go with this since most of the time I won't be playing games, so those other factors are more important to me. Plus, it can still do a decent job playing games, it's not like the 1050 is total crap. There's a good review here of a guy playing games on it: https://youtu.be/3tJGVLviL44?t=11m28s

Depends on what your priorities are for your laptop.

It will make no noticable difference. The 1050 is a budget card so you won't be doing any 4k gaming anyways. Even at 1080p, you won't be doing max textures or setting with 4GB version. The 2GB and 4 GB versions will both run games fine on low to medium settings.

Consumer Lenovo computers SUCK. Avoid them like the plague. I've had 4 of their laptops over the last 5 years. Should have stopped buying them after 2 gave me issues. I guess I get off on pain.

The 1060 6GB, or a 1070 would make this a smoking deal, as-is it's meh, IMO. Like the OP said though, priorities...

Yeah that's pretty unrealistic though. You can find a 1060 in a laptop in this price range, but you're never going to find it with 4k screen, 1TB SSD, < 5lbs, thunderbolt 3, etc. You'd be creeping up on $2k for something like that (likely more). Even the XPS has a 1050 (albeit 4GB) and at these specs would be over $2k.

See if your credit card offers price protection or just return it and reorder if it's worth the wait and effort.
