This is the same deal from last month, the only caveat is that you can't use the any template tutorials, the skill has to be a custom skill developed by you.

For June we were able to use any template, July restricted us from using the Fact Skill Template, and it seems this month you must code the skill from scratch? - Will update when this becomes clear.

I am thinking that either this https://iotforall.com/alexa-skills-kit-tutorial/ tutorial, or this https://github.com/pluralsight/gu...article.md tutorial might work since these are not amazon templates.

Actually up to 1 million lambda requests/month are free even after the AWS free tier expires. Since skills run on Lambda entirely there should be no charge even after the AWS free tier expires except for a couple pennies in bandwidth charges.

I'm still waiting to receive my echo dot for June however Amazon email support won't reply back to me and Amazon phone support is incompetent and cannot forward you to the proper department to talk to relating to this promo...

I'm hoping I receive July but I have my doubts on these promo's. Seems like July and August could be a waste of time.

So do you think that any tutorials, amazon or not, won't pass the certification? I am pretty sure that the skills will get certified, but I am unsure whether or not they will qualify for the promotion.
