an acceptable drill if you don't have one and rarely need one.
minor adaptations to the battery and this tool allow for cross compatibility with the craftsman nextec 12v line. youtube is your friend.

Not all jobs that require drills need powerful drills and this small, lightweight, cheap drill may be an excellent option for many. The potential Craftsman Nextec compatability may be a bonus for those of us that still have some of those tools around.

This looks like a stripped down version of the Craftsman Nextec drill.

I can't speak about this brand/model, but I've been really happy with the two Nextec Craftsman drills I've got. If the quality of this is similar, you don't already have a drill, and the lack of features isn't a deal-breaker, it's probably worth $13. The Craftsmans are usually my goto for light drill/driver applications. Drills like this and the Craftsmans Nextecs are no match for higher voltage, brushless, or corded drills, but they're light, portable, and cheap.

The Nextec stuff I do have was purchased super cheap during sales with SYWR points or after rebates at Menards. It's decent stuff if your expectations and use-cases are right.

Like Jeff said, the possible Nextec compatibility here is probably worth the $13 for a battery/charger.

"Hyper tough" - lol.. even if this were the best drill on the market that would still be the dumbest name.

I've bought super cheap, smaller drills like this before and they've lasted plenty long for simple stuff relative to the price. It's $13 bucks, and it's Wal-Mart. If it breaks in any reasonable amount of time, simply take it back and get your store credit.

You cannot use it for any type of serious work, but it's perfect for odd jobs around apartment (hang a picture, assemble IKEA furniture, etc)

Guys, I scored the hard cased version of this, with additional tools and accessories for $19. I know it's more than the stated 13$, but the hard case and additional items are convenient.
