The HP Z420 six-core 8GB deal is back at Newegg. $329.99 shipped. Could warm up a bit with the 25 off 200 Masterpass coupon.

It would have been better to include "HP" in the title. "Z420 E5-1650" doesn't mean much without it.

I use a lot of apps and web browsers with dozens of open tabs, so don't intend to ever buy another PC for my own use with less than 32 GB of RAM (unless, perhaps, I decide to get an HTPC but then I would want a smaller form factor). Also a 250 GB 3.5in HDD is not enough capacity for its physical size for me to bother with it. (I did not rate this deal though.)

Did you comment in the wrong deal? This is a sub $300 Xeon desktop that probably had nothing to do with your 32gb RAM. Like, people who bought this will probaby never have the same need as you do, why even bother?

It may be because the "HP" was omitted from the title initially. The search "HP E5-1650"|"HP Z420" doesn't show such a thread though?

No, I posted because it matched one of my deal alerts and its title needed amending. While I was at it, I posted my thoughts on the specs.

32 gb of ram seems absurd

It is more than most people need (e.g. 16 GB is probably sufficient for most), but I've got 24 GB in my current PC and it's not always enough. Perhaps it would make more sense if I mentioned I use my PC for both work and non-work activities, sometimes simultaneously.

Do you have something useful to say or did you just come here to troll?
