We were all beginners at one point. Why hate on others who want to improve their lives and get into a career they enjoy and can probably get paid more than in their previous career?

Speaking as a software engineer who started learning using Lynda.com and other online sources on nights and weekends while working his day job in Advertising many years ago, I wholeheartedly encourage others who wish to pursue a career in web/software development.

I watched a few videos from the last time Tanga had a deal for programming and data science.

For a course that's free, I can't complain. It was a good introduction.

Some areas could be better. I didn't particularly like having so many different teachers because they have their own style for teaching. There were also a few too many errors and typos in the code they showed off. For a beginner, that was very frustrating to have.

I ended up taking a course from edX called 6.00x instead which does both programming with Python AND really great data science. It's free and it's made by MIT and the quality is definitely there with the name. There are many other free courses like it as well and I've seen some others for full stack.

I am not planning on becoming a web developer, but if you do I'd recommend getting this deal (because free!) as a jumping off point and using another one of these free courses from edX or coursera. There's a neat search engine that can search both sites (and a few others) at once here: https://opencourser.com

No Python and no react native and no Django. DOM manipulation is a plus
