Fits Char-Griller AKORN Kamado grills

Transform your Char-Griller AKORN Kamado grill into an outdoor convection oven. The unique design diverts heat around the perimeter of the grill, which is ideal for low or slow smoking to keep your meat moist and tender.
Perfect for baking, cook pizzas, bread and even cookies

Your AKORN Kamado grill can work triple time as a charcoal grill, smoker or oven. Evenly distribute heat while protecting your food from direct flames for tender moist cooking.

Cordierite material withstands temps over 1200 degrees.

Damn. Why can't this be for the small one - 6211?

I picked up an Akorn Jr at the Walmart sale last week and it looks like the only place available is the char griller store direct.

All the accessories are going to cost me more than the grill itself.

It's a heat deflector, but people are cooking on it too.

I've googled Cordierite + cancer and can't find any info..

I welcome any info.. I do use a Cordierite pizza stone with parchment paper.

Anyone have anything that links pizza stones to cancer?

Damn, just bought a Masterbuilt electric smoker a couple of months ago. Was considering the Akorn, but wasn't sure if I was ready to dedicate the time to a charcoal grill/smoker. I'm starting to change my mind. The walmart by me has two of the Akorns for $139. Was debating on pulling the trigger. Now with this, I just might. The wife isn't going to be too happy with me though.

Anyone know if this one will work with the 22 inch Pit Boss?

Unfortunately Sous vide causes cancer too. Cooking in plastic etc, etc

Probably the basic thought of charred burny stuff causing cancer.
He is right, though, in that the bbq and smoked food is delicious.
Can't stop won't stop.
