Are these prices that the op said are "regular price" accurate? If so this seems like a good deal.

AD900X can usually be had at BuyDig for anywhere between 110-130 (sale tax for NJ resident only)

Edit: It's currently going for 130 + FS and they will throw in a Slappa HardBody PRO Full Sized Headphone Case (Black) SL-HP-07 (usually go for $20)

Edit 2: BuyDig is an Authorized AudioTechnica Dealer _ https://www.buydig.com/shop/conte...brand.html

500x have been great and from the reviews are not that different than the 700x or 900x. More than enough for gaming, but audiophiles might want the the higher end models.

Only headphones I've had are Koss ProDJ100. I'm guessing the cheaper one of these are best suited for a noob like me? I only have a digital audio player from Fiio if it matters. Always wanted to try open back headphones.

I'm still rocking my ATH-M50s from 6 years ago and they are still the bomb, anyone have any experience with these in comparison?

According to CamelCamelCamel $130 - $150 seems to be the norm lately.

I don't think so... Bass on these does not get anywhere near to HD650 level. They are similar to HD 598 IMO.
