Would this work for buying outright? Or only for installment?

You can probably pay off the phone after one or two billing cycle. And cancel service if you want.

Would the installment lock me into a 2 year commitment even if I pay off the installments right away?

For Sprint, you're not bound into a contract if you pay off the balance. However, the phone will be locked and cannot be taken off the account until 50 days have passed since you purchased it.

For Verizon, same, pay, you're not bound into a contract. The phone is unlocked immediately and can be transferred to other accounts or carriers.

Great find, thanks OP. The free accessories make this way better than the Best Buy deal.

I dunno, the tylt kit is worth maybe $30 and the wireless charger is $25 (i use an S7 with several generic wireless chargers from Amazon that charge at the same speed as the samsung one). Personally id take the cash but this deal is decent too.

Thing about the cell phone deals is you dont actually pay anything but the sales tax up front. you pay the installments later. Hence, no points and no costco citi warranty coverage (since its limited to the cost you charged to the card).

Recently, there's been big discounts on S8. My guess is that they fear the loss of sales when iphone 8 comes up. Rumor says iPhone 8 will be the biggest upgrade so far. We'll see... If they come out with saphire glass, oled display, fast charger, 2x battery then I'm sold.
