I thought I read on the Verizon forum that the North American variant unlocked S8 wouldn't work 100% on Verizon network?

Pretty sure that one involved a risky trade in through Samsung. That wasn't OTD.

What a useless comment:
- $322 was price with Unidays/Samsung EPP accounts which not everyone has
- $322 doesn't include sales tax. B&H doesn't collect sales tax for anyone except NY and NJ
- $322 is with included $150 trade-in for some of the newer phones. The cheapest being Straight Talk iPhone 5S for $55.
- That deal was for both S8 and S8+

My math, with 10.1% sales tax is that the deal you're referencing had following final prices:
- best case, trade-in works: ~ $410
- don't do trade in: ~ $520
- trade-in rejected, iPhone lost: ~$545

Assuming someone ordered S8 (not +) on that deal and their trade-in is rejected, it's only a $30 saving compared to B&H without sales tax

Also it involved use of Unidays/EPP accounts which is YMMV

Read my reply to his/hers comment above. $575 is decent with no sales tax, but you can do better with risky trade-ins on Samsung.com and Unidays/Samsung EPP accounts (need corporate perks account or .edu email)

This is the deal that was referenced. If you want to profit from these, get someone with Unidays account to share credentials with you. Alternatively, get someone with Samsung EPP account to share it with you. Some employers offer this perk. Discounts are usually around $50/phone, but sometimes Samsung.com messes up and gives bigger discount like for this coral blue.

$549.99 shipped for the exact same phone with warranty on eBay through samsungmobile (Vertex Wireless, a Verizon authorized reseller), plus $33.00 in ebay Bucks if you're eligible for the current 6% promotion:

I can personally confirm this, as I was never able to get text messages to send regardless of what APN settings I tried. Receiving messages worked fine.

Do you realize that deal is long gone? And it didn't work for everyone, even with unidays?

Yes, I was informing the OP about possibilities for getting cheaper S8, didn't say this deal is bad. Read the whole thread including usernames before commenting
