HP AMD A9-9430 Desktop Bundle with 24 inch Monitor - $449.00

$449.00

Regular price is $699. This will be on sale for $449 on August 5. This looks like a great deal for someone looking for a basic home computing setup, and someone who wants a box to sit on the floor and never open or modify it. The product description doesn't state it's their Slimline series but from the pictures it appears that's what it is.

The a-series CPU are 2in1 CPU+gpu. Don't expect it to play high end games on max settings but they will be able to handle most games on low settings. They are a step up from gfx integrated into mobos.(Intel 520, Intel 620, etc)

I don't know much about these processors... Should I get this, the Acer from Newegg, or should I wait for something else?

This cpu has passmark of about 2500, which is pathetic in today's standards for a desktop pc. Yes I know that this cpu is meant for a notebook, but why can't they sell this in a notebook or put this pc in a smaller form factor?

How does this HP from Sam's compare to this regular price Dell at Costco ($399)?

This is an extremely weak CPU. The performance of the integrated graphics is also hindered by the single-channel RAM. This should be $100 cheaper...

If anyone is still considering purchasing this, don't.

Staples has a Lenovo desktop on sale with effectively the same specs for $299.99. [staples.com]

The bundled HP monitor is not worth $150. It should be very easy to find one that's better quality and less expensive. Hell, 27" monitors are frequently found for $150.
