Manufaktur Edition is usually just a color change on the cups. Though later Manufaktur editions may have also changed the pads to the black ones like some other variations now have.

The black pads may sound different. Most people will say all gray pads are the same, but I have gray pads that are similar but not the same as other gray pads, so black pads having differences even from other black pads wouldn't be surprising. SEEMS like, going from user reviews, that original versions of the black pads were noticeably firmer than later versions which are now similar to gray.

All differences throughout the lines are basically:
Three different ohms versions,
straight or coiled cable (coiled should always be Pro version),
stylish cups or uglier ("more durable!") Pro cups
gray or black pads
Premium or Pro headband, Pro should have tighter clamp
color changes on cups.

Coiled vs. straight cable is probably the biggest difference of all the differences during use, (other than different ohms). Some people love coiled, some hate it.

You would need a pretty strong amp to power this right?

It's been fluctuating at this price point since late Feb of this year.

Any hint on what that URL would've been?

He has a wrong chart (250ohm). Camel camel camel does not have price history for this model.

I own these bad boys, but the silver orig ones. One of the best for music, movies gaming, period.

Airy sound, deep, tight, controlled bass. Bass even crisper and tighter than HD650 when paired with the right amp.

Been pairing this with little dot mkiii tube amp. Haven't found a reason to upgrade my sound system in 4 years now.

I have the 250ohm version, best sounding headphones I've ever had. Got a LDMKII tube amp plugged into my computer for it.

You need a pretty strong amp to power this.

They may sound nice with an underpowered amp, but they won't sound how they can sound.

Lots of people underpower their headphones but it's loud so they assume it's adequately powered. The 600-ohm Beyers can run into the actual problem of not enough volume.

Plenty of people probably run 600 Beyers on a 100mw @ 32 amp and say it's the best sound they've ever heard. Based on their experience, they're not wrong. I've seen people who have only had mediocre headphones plug the 600 into their cell phone and their eyes light up and their mouth drops open. But then a week later they're asking what kind of decent amp to get for it.

Guys, Started collecting cans nearly two years ago. Have known when I add a set of Beyers they would be 600Ohm. This seems just like what I've been waiting for - thanks! But help me understand if the 'Manufaktur Edtion' i.e. the black ones - have any build or sonic advantages.....
