Blaster Master Zero; Free Shovel Knight DLC

+47 Deal Score
12,542 Views
From now until 8/16/17 you can download shovel knight for free as a playable character for Blaster Master Zero for Nintendo Switch or 3DS. After 8/16 it will be paid DLC. Link for information only. You will need to access the Nintendo eShop for the DLC. This should offer some good replay value for the game.

You can purchase the DLC even if you don't have the game. Handy if you plan to buy the game later.

Search for Blaster Master in the eshop on your Switch, scroll down, click on more when you get to the DLC.

Also works for Mighty Gunvolt

Just find the game in the eShop and then scroll down. You should see a list of all of the DLC characters, but you might need to expand the list to find the current free one, which is Shovel Knight.

I wish I remembered to do this with Shantae! Good call.

I left both my Switch and my 3DS @ home. No way to get this via a web browser?

When I search, the only thing that pulls up is the game. When I click on the game, it's just the game or demo. Where is the DLC??

I don't when I am 2.5K miles away, separated by the Pacific Ocean. :-(

I asked a friend to check. He says he doesn't see a way to download SK for this 3DS game via the 3DS store. He even downloaded the demo in the hopes it triggers something. He mentioned from the eShop on the 3DS, there is a link to DLC, but it only brings up all games that have DLC.

Next step would be to buy the game, then see if that worked. Still, the DLC is $2 each? If I really want it, I guess I'd have to foot the $2/ea for them.

I found it. Load the game -> extra -> DLC and it's in there.

Couldn't find a way to do this on the 3DS eShop. The store page for the game doesn't even list any DLC.

That's pretty cool, but I thought Blaster Master was a pretty mediocre game. Not bad, but far from great. It just kind of exists. Not fun. I'd highly recommend downloading the demo before purchasing.

I hope they come out with a physical copy release of Blaster Master. The original Sunsoft game should come with it too.
