The Dell 38 inch 3840 x 1600 monitor dropped by 20% at the official Dell site several days ago, close to a previous popular eBay deal for $1130. Add on a cheap $100 monitor to take advantage of Dell's 15% multi-monitor discount and the current $200 SD rebate to bring your effective price down to $880 AR. No Dell gift card with this order so you can break the vicious cycle!
I have been tracking this monitor for weeks and was about to buy this using a cashback site at 10% back, but the current SD rebate is a better deal at just under 20% back.
This Dell was recently released so there are not many reviews out. However, it uses the same LG panel in the similar 38UC99-W, albeit missing a few minor features and the Freesync 75 Hz. There are many reviews for the 38UC99-W in terms of color accuracy, response times, etc. E.g. TFTcentral [tftcentral.co.uk]

The pixel density is perfect for this size. No need to use UI scaling here.
- Start shopping from the SD rebate link. Must start and end your purchase in one session from the SD link while logged into SD, otherwise your rebate will not be tracked.

$1170+$100 = $1270
-15% Dell multi-monitor discount = $1080
-$200 SD Rebate = $880.
Compare to Acer XR382 at $1209, LG 38UC99 at $1700. All appear to use the same LG panel as this Dell.
Of course, you can add whatever monitor you want for the 15% discount. I ended up with the 24inch [dell.com]
, original sale price of $170 before discount. If you're unsure about the size, see Linus' review here [youtube.com]
