How do these compare to AudioEngine HD6s? ($750 new, $600 open box).

I've yet to come across a direct comparison of the two, but I'm willing to bet the answer is about the same as the comparison between the A5+ and R-15PM. If want a lively, dynamic sound with a peak in the upper mids then the Sixes are probably the way to go. The HD6 should be a much more laid back and smooth sounding speaker with a mid-bass boost. Other big difference is the HD6 uses a 5.5" driver while the Sixes use a 6.5" driver. The Sixes should play a few hertz lower than the HD6 as a result while also being slightly larger (if you have limited space).

BuyDig is shady with their refurbished items. They will lie to you and take down items on their site to tell you they are out of stock just to put those exact items back up two days later after your issue is "closed". I will never buy from them again. Stay away.

Is powered speakers plus Chromecast better (if paying up to 600,) not sure how an open box item less than fifteen percent off new is a good deal.
