I think it is end of production on the sojourn, so your choices are going to be meridian or ozone from osprey. Neither of which I like either.

Why no love for this deal? Isn't this the lowest price ever for a Farpoint 55?

Meridian looks good but always nice to have that waist belt in case you are going for the all in one pack.

I have this backpack and I've taken it to 20 plus countries, most of which were by plane and I carried it on every time.

I personally recommend the S/M size as its about an inch or two shorter and will fit in the overhead easier on the smaller flights.

This is a fantastic price. If you are on the fence, buy it. You wont be disappointed!

It depends on the length of your torso. If you check the sizing chart on the website, you'll be able to tell which one fits you better. The M/L is slightly longer so the volume is slightly larger too.

Others have already responded, but if you have the time, you can always go into a nice sporting goods store where they can have you try on the pack to see which size fits you best. I think REI had an associate show me all the straps and adjustments to make sure the pack's weight was distributed well.

They both say 55L but if you read the sizing from the Osprey website, they're slightly different.

VOLUME DIMENSIONS WEIGHT
S/M 3173 IN3 / 52 L 24H X 13W X 12D IN. 3.75 LBS.
M/L 3356 IN3 / 55 L 25H X 13W X 12D IN. 3.9 LBS.
