Is this model discontinued or still sold by Dell?

Be careful, one-star reviews states issues with the motherboard, along with a history of recalls of the motherboard going dead:

Old tech, refurbished, and bad reviews due to major hardware issues.... I would stay away from this. Maybe for $150 it would be worth the risk but not at $257.

I have one; it is decently fast, the ssd is a fast m.2 readily upgradeable, the WiFi msata also easily swappable, and the battery is easily removable. There is room for a sim and a cellular also but Google the install process and compatible cards. With the current win10 everything works well. It was awful in win8.1.

It needs a specific charger that uses 19.2v over a microusb connected and it is somewhat thick and heavy. Cases are few and far between. The stylus is terrible, even after 3 revisions.

It is much, much faster than the surface 3 non-pro I am typing on right now.

I'm sure with specs like that, it'll run better than Microsoft surface pro line but refurbished + history of recalls = no thank you

Poor stylus support kills it for me. I guess that's why Surface Pro line keeps its value; it's really one of the only in the game to get the stylus working right!

yeah, i've had a few Venue Pros now... all have had power issues. at least all but my last one was under warranty, so the repair was covered. but now i basically have a few 100$ paper weight, since it costs more to have Dell even look at the damn thing than i paid for it. i guess i'll try changing the input power board, but it's probably the main board like my other ones.

really not a great product.

I've got three of these. One has a cracked screen and is my Plex server using an external USB 3 drive for the media. The other two are sitting there doing nothing but I may give one to my sister as she says a Pro3 is physically bigger than what she wants. The external battery keyboard is nice, but it's all a bit heavy. Overall, we found that the digitizer on these is not very good and that was why the stylus was worthless, but at this price this is a very strong machine.

I also have 3 unlocked LTE cards for these, in case anyone is interested. They should work in other uses where you have a spare slot like a laptop I guess.

These go to sleep when the battery is drained and never turn back on again. Dell will then tell you that a new main board is needed. Complete trash from Dell that should be avoided.
