The 8in. innerspring ones (not sure about the others) is also available at Jet for the same price. Here's the links: Twin [jet.com] & Full [jet.com]. I was able to save on tax and take 15%off ("first three orders") making it even slicker at about $75 out the door. You could make it even less but I'd be terrified to waive the return on something as big, heavy, and hard to ship as a mattress, but you could save a little (less than the credit card interest, even at 1%) by using debit or buying more than one.

Edit: Just checked and they have the memory foam ones too...but no 10in.:
Memory Twin [jet.com]
Memory Full [jet.com] (slightly higher, but less than tax in my state and certainly much less after a 15% discount where applicable)

With memory foam the thicker the matress is means that it will be more plush.

So if you want super firm go for a 6 inch memory foam.

As far as which is better between coil and memory foam I can tell you that I dont know. What I do know is that it has become cheaper to manufacture and ship memory foam and there has been a big commercial campaign to get people interested in memory foam.

But the people saying that memory foam is superior are comparing a memory foam mattress from 2017 to their old coil mattress that they have had for 15 years.

But the newer coil matresses (modern day) are being made with pocket coil (a new technology for spring matresses). So if you can try to go to a retail store and lie down on both.

I was about to "jump on the bandwagon" and get a memory foam but after more and more research I think alot of the virtues of memory foam are being exaggerated. Newer does not always mean better.

The manufacturers are pushing memory foam now for the following reasons:

1) It is cheaper to ship a memory foam mattress nowadays because they can roll it up and compress it so that it looks the shape of an Everlast punching bag and it is therefore much lighter weight and less volume than a spring matress in the huge rectangle box.

2) It is cheaper to manufacture these memory foam matresses resulting in higher profits.

3) It is more likely that people currently are sleeping on a spring mattress so the manufacturers want to trump up all the Pizzaz and virtues of a memory foam matress so that customers will buy "the latest thing" and so that customers upgrade to a memory foam mattress.

The bottom line is that if you are getting a good night's sleep on your current bed than there is no need to upgrade. We certainly are living in a wonderful time with matresses selling for under $200. I remember when Tempurpedic was over $3000

This Slumber 1 brand is the same price now. But I would prefer a 10" twin... This is a great deal though!

Been needing a full for a toddler. Anyone know which is better, this or Zinus of Amazon? We have a Zinus for one of the other kids and it runs a little firm.

Which is better spring or memory foam, for someone who's never tried memory foam before, has back pain, and needs a firmer mattress?

Also, what would be the advantages of a thicker mattress like the 12" Zinus? Would it last longer, be less likely to sag over time?
