True but considering the prices of these over the last month or two it's still a lot less than the average. I've been watching the prices on various 1070s and they've rarely gone below 450. If you're dying for one it's not a bad deal otherwise you can wait for the cryptocurrency bubble to finish up and the prices to settle down again.

Too close to Vega launch. I would have jumped last month but with a week or less left for Vega, no thanks.

The media has been touting the RX Vegas as the most efficient mining cards. Good luck getting one.

NVidia would most likely drop their prices on their 10xx lineup, regardless of RX availability, so it's good thing to wait for a few weeks

Exactly. I have no interest in vega, but see this as an opportunity for a price drop on nvidia's side.

The irony is that this card is even below reference because the cooler is worse than nvidias own reference blower cooler and im pretty sure it's also missing the backplate whereas nvidias comes with one

I agree and disagree 2 things: this ASUS card is at the bottom of the 1070 chain and VEGA cards are not order-able and consume more power at the similar performance to the current NVIDIA 10xx gens.
