Hi All,

First post. Sam Ash has what looks like a nice sale if your in the market for Gibson's. 2015 Gibson "special" aka the ones with the e-tunner are on sale... staring at $479. I bought a brand new 2015 Gibson Sg special cherry red.... comes with a hardcase and all books for $549 or $599 with tax.

Let me know you thoughts and if you guys think theres something NEW out there thats just as good or better for the price.

Thanks,
G

Good first post! That's a great price for a new sg special. I own a 2016 that I felt I stole for the same price. Great instrument. Not a lot of love for the automatic tuners out there but you can swap them out and sell the old ones if they aren't what you want.

I can't explain how much I don't need a guitar, but I've wanted a DC Las Paul for easily a decade.

For those more up to speed - how good is this deal? Something I'm not likely to see again? Not likely to cost less?

See if your local Sam ash has some models you can try out.... the complaints I hear about the 2015 specials are thick necks with the same string spacing as the thinner necks, e-tunner and brass nut..... none of those things bothered me. If have some experience you can remove the e-tunner and sell for around $200 bucks making the Gibson $400 Lmao.

Deal wise I think it is a steal if the guitar suits your style...

SG added to the cart fine for me. Those SG's are killer for the money. I have an 07' SG standard in the fleet and it's pretty darn solid. Used are selling on eBay for more than 549. I would be all over it if I was remotely in the market for another. I would be surprised if somebody has in the past, could now or will be able to find a better deal on those specific guitars in the near future. Nice find.

Plus maybe it will be a collectable someday!... 2015 was the 100 year anniversary of Gibson.

If you register a new account, you can also get $20 off coupon (if it doesn't appear immediately, chat with the support, they can apply for you). I just ordered the SG Cheery for $529 + tax (shows back ordered, but I can wait). Sweet deal, with a hardshell case!

Darn it, rushed too fast and forgot about the cash back site's 4.25%, otherwise another $20 off. Well ... (Update: their live chat support is amazing, canceled the previous order and placed it again with cash back. Now $40 off, sweet!)

Thank you!

Where is it supposed to appear? I'm sold on the Les Paul Junior.

They said it should appear in the first screen of the checkout page, though it may take up to 24 hours. Best thing is to Live Chat with the support, they can modify your cart to reflect the $20 off.

So create an account first then it will appear? Just making sure I do the steps right.

Yep, just register a new account, put the guitar in cart, if you don't see the $20 off, live chat with them. Good luck!
