Sounds like a solid deal, but is this speculation or did you get this deal to work?

I personally didn't do this deal, just read on the Xbox One subreddit [reddit.com] and decided to share it on here. Some one on there has confirmed that this worked for them but they haven't posted a receipt yet :/ I'll update with the receipt on here if they post one.

Always got to get the warranty for controllers when buying from Best Buy, i've already swapped out my elite controller once and got a new one without a problem.

I can confirm this works. I did this yesterday myself. Got the controller, the BB warranty, and the insignia elite stand for $106 after tax

My only worry is that the 2 coupons can't be used together. The $30 coupon towards the Xbox One Elite Controller after trade-in and the Student Coupon. Best Buy does not like to stack coupons. The $20 Gift Card for the trade-in won't be an issue as it is a gift card.

Did you use the coupons to purchase the Elite Controller in-store or online?

I read that you actually don't need an edu email anymore to sign up for the student coupons.

hmmm.....i added a controller to my cart for $56.99 added the coupon and it took off $4.50, hardly 30% off. The accessories are already "discounted" from MSRP and that is what they take into account. So don't think you'll be getting 30% their advertised price if you do this. Maybe the elite is different.

Ditto. Would like to know if this is in store only or can the student code and coupon be stacked online?

Was going to ask if there was an extended warranty available for these, since you're pretty much guaranteed to need the warranty if you use the controller more than a couple of hours a month. Still a tough purchase though when you can get something like a SCUF for a few bucks more with much more reliability.

That's still expensive for a remote especially given it's less than stellar reliability.
If you refer to it as a "remote" then you're obviously not the targeted demographic anyway. Wink
